Agreed.  VM creates a nice extent (an overlay under FSF Emacs) with
the necessary info encoded within its properties.  The behaviour of
VM's `C-c C-a' binding would probably be a nice thing to have in Gnus.

This doesn't cover the arbitrarily complex multiparts, though.
