Subject: Upgrading to Pgnus - no more mail gets popped..
Date: 03 Aug 1999 10:29:08 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <ks7lnd4697.fsf@telelogic.se> (raw)
Hi!
I just switched to Emacs 20.4, with the default gnus (5.7) and my
virtual groups stopped working (is this normal? I think I bugreported
it).. So I decided to go pgnus..
Well reading the docs, and changing my .gnus to use mail-sources
(setq mail-sources
'((pop :server "farpoint"
:user "aes"
:password zecret)))
There are still no popping sounds ;-)
/andy
p.s. now comes the question, how to read the answer, guess I have to
telnet to the pop-server :-)
Some stories to tell our kids.. hey you sit today with your
imap-gooey-office-exchange readers, in my youth we had to telnet
(BINARY telnet, no ascii here.. you know 1001001) to our pop/nntp-servers..
