Subject: Improve speed of scoring?

Hi!

After discovering the elp profiling package I tracked down the most
time consuming actions of my daily Gnus usage. It's entering groups
with lots of unread articles with scoring turned on. I use scoring on
head and body. Why can't Gnus just fetch the whole article once?

,----[ ELP results of entering two groups with 300+ articles ]
| gnus-request-head 653 40.898979 0.0626324333
| gnus-request-body 653 27.745753000 0.0424896676
`----

Another idea came to my mind. Can score files be byte-compiled? I
tried, but Gnus didn't like the format. Maybe it doesn't make sense
anyway, as Gnus is spending more time on fetching the articles rather
than applying score rules.

Cheers, Ray
