I hadn't read your article carefully enough. The problem I'm chasing is different -- splitting based on content in headers far from the beginning of the list of headers doesn't happen; this is clearly different from what you described, which involves single very-long headers. I'll post again if I find the problem, or when I have a more accurate description of how to reproduce it. Of course if you know where/what this problem is, please let me know. thanks.
