The operation

fails with the message
cvs [server aborted]: unexpected EOF reading RCS file
/usr/local/cvsroot/gnus/lisp/gnus-uu.el,v
...
I'm trying to get Gnus listed as ohloh, see

It requires the entire history to be readable.
