Subject: emacs/gnus on windows 7
Date: Sat, 17 Dec 2011 14:16:30 +0000 (UTC) [thread overview]
Message-ID: <loom.20111217T145613-228@post.gmane.org> (raw)
I am longtime emacs/gnus user on linux who is way confused on windows.
After googling a bit I find so much confusing and possibly outdated material
about setting up gnus on windows that I hopped to ask here for a URL or
directions that are current and I can understand.
After fiddling with the settings in thunderbird it seemed to require these
setting to work:
pop:
Server: pop.newsguy.com port 110
User: XXmyuserXX
Connection Security: none
Authentication method: Password Transmitted insecurely
==========================================================
smtp:
Server: smtp.newsguy.com port 25
user: XXmyuserXX
Authentication method: Normal password
Connection security: STARTTLS
Where can I find how that translates into `~/.emacs/.gnus' config?
