Subject: Renumbering an nnmail directory?
Date: 17 Feb 2000 00:42:29 -0500	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <lt66vov0ze.fsf@asfast.com> (raw)

I'm using the latest gnus-5.8.4 from the CVS tree.

I would like to sequentially renumber the messages within an nnmail
directory. I know one way to do it is to mark all the messages, sort
them in the order I desire, use `B m' to move the messages to a new,
dummy group, to delete the old group, and to rename the dummy group
with the original group's name.

But is there a more direct way of renumbering the messages without
going through the dummy group creation and the message moving? I
couldn't find anything in the documentation.

If not, I can live with the method I outlined above ... I'm just
wondering if there might also be something with fewer steps.

Thanks in advance.
