gnus : 5.4.39

gnus-uu-post-length by default is 990, i added this in my .gnus.el file,
but it still split a message into multiple parts when the attachment caused
it to exceed 1000 lines.

(setq gnus-uu-post-length 2000)

Are you really using the gnus-uu posting functions and not the tm
posting methods?

ah. i figured there would be some sort of a common backend, so i 
did an symbol lookup on 'length' .. and that was the only relevant-looking
symbol it came up with. 

pointers to the correct place to look are welcome! :)

[re: tm posting functions and message splitting]

Check out the variables:

      mime-editor/message-default-max-length
      mime-editor/message-max-length-alist
      mime-editor/split-message

The simplest fix is to (setq mime-editor/split-message nil).

If it is tm, tm-edit reference mentions C-c C-x /
mime-editor/set-split
