See the node "Windows Configuration" in the gnus info.  There's a
specific example for setting up a separate frame for composing, among
other things.  You'll want to barf when you see all the hoops you have
to go through to get it somewhat close to "right" but given the way
the window configuration stuff works it's the best I could come up
with.  In the general case, it works pretty well.
