I just forwarded a message with 0.79 and notice that my sig comes
after the inlined message. This caused some confusion on the part of
the recipient (a netscape user, if it matters) who thought that the
forwarded message was authored by me due to the sig placement and the
lack of delimiter at the end of the inlined message (it didn't help
that the forwarded message had no sig itself). I think in the old
case there was some variable that controlled whether the .sig would be
inserted before or after the forwarded message. Would it be possible
to bring that much back?

Thanks,

There is a "--=-=-=" delimiter between the parts, isn't there?

Anyway, wasn't the Netscape user presented with the message/rfc822
part as an attachment?

In the raw message, I'm sure.

Well, I didn't actually look at her screen but by her description, it
looked almost exactly as I think it would have looked in gnus had I
Gcc'd it. The forwarded message was displayed totally inline (that
didn't surprise me; gnus generated a content-disposition of inline).
After the initial headers, there was the one line from me telling her
I was forwarding it (which she only noticed after I told her about it
on the phone) and then the headers and body of the inserted message,
and then my sig.
