Hi,

I'm sorry if this was already discussed in this mailing list. If the
message, contains two X-Face headers, this causes the Emacs-20.2 to
segfault: it prints "Fatal error (11).Segmentation fault" and exits
not saving buffers. In particular, the following message posted in
this mailing list caused the above behavior for me:

I reported this to the ding list a couple weeks ago and today I saved
the core file, ran a first level gdb backtrace and reported it to
bug-gnu-emacs, which is, I think, the right place to get it fixed. A
core dump is an Emacs problem, not a Gnus problem. In the mean time,
I'm running a procmail script to massage X-Faces out. My first
thought was to take the gnus-article-display-xface out of my display
hook, but that didn't help since I foolishly hit W f...

Since the procmail workaround was so easy I figured I ought to forward
it on. The formail program that is distributed with procmail has an
option to uniqify headers (eg stripping all but the first or last
occurrence of the given header. I put this in my .procmailrc:

:0 fw
|formail -u X-Face:

and things seem to be much better now.
