Hi,

I'm trying to look up articles by message-Id, e.g. from Org links.
Here's what I'm using today:

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(defun gnus-goto-article (message-id)
  (let ((nnir-imap-default-search-key "imap"))
    (gnus-group-make-nnir-group
     nil
     `((query . ,(concat "header message-id " message-id))
       (criteria . "")
       (server . "nnimap:BoostPro") )))
  (gnus-summary-refer-article message-id))
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

This is decent, but it would be so much cooler if I could use
gnus-refer-article-method to look for messages that might be in
newsgroups, gmane, google, etc.

So I figured I'd just create an empty ephemeral group and then

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(gnus-summary-refer-article "<some-message-id>")
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

...which I have proved to myself works in an arbitrary group. But I
can't figure out how to create an empty ephemeral group.

Hints?

TIA,
