The registry doesn't know about articles existing on the nntp server which gnus-summary-refer-article can still query for. So the registry is always a subset of the total articles I can refer to. (Which is a good thing, because GigaNews has millions upon millions of articles, and that would cause the registry become uselessly slow). What doesn't work is that 'A T' doesn't do everything it can to recursively find all referenced articles from all refer-article sources. In contrast, if you hand-select each article that 'A R' finds, and then press 'A R' on that, and so on recursively, you will ultimately end up with the entire thread. 'A T' seems to use a different logic -- which gets even more different if nnimap is ever involved, *even if the referred-to article came from a non-IMAP server*. John
