Heres one I hadn't seen before. But then I don't really use nnvirtual
that often either. Maybe others have seen this before.

I've added some extra back slashes for the wrappin:

File name too long.....! what'll it be next. I thought I might be
able to tighten up in the agent "categories" buffer, but all that is
  displayed there is:

("nnvirtual:bsd")

Loading cl-seq...done Creating directory: file name too long,
   /home/reader/News/agent/nnvirtual/^$\|\(^mailing\.freebsd\.ports$\)\\
   |\(^mailing\.freebsd\.hackers$\)\|\(^mailing\.freebsd\.current$\)\|\\
   (^mailing\.freebsd\.hardware$\)\|\(^mailing\.freebsd\.questions$\)\|\\
   (^mailing\.freebsd\.doc$\)\|\(^comp\.unix\.bsd\.freebsd\.misc$\)\|\\
   (^comp\.unix\.bsd\.misc$\)

I see lots of places where this can be shortened but how to tell gnus
about it. How is one supposed to get around this monster and what is
the default limit.

I made an nnvirtual group of the groups listed in that RE and Gnus
won't process them.
