Major changes in the message-composing interface.
All Gnus variables for message composition are now obsolete. A new
package -- message.el -- is a combined news & mail composition mode.
There is no documentation yet, but there probably will be in the next
release.
Get it from <URL:http://www.ifi.uio.no/~larsi/sgnus.tar.gz> or
"ftp.ifi.uio.no:/pub/emacs/gnus/".
ChangeLog since last release:
Tue Mar 26 05:15:15 1996 Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen <lars@eyesore.no>
* gnus-cache.el (gnus-cache-retrieve-headers): Would bug out on
empty groups.
* nnmail.el (nnmail-cache-open): Mark buffer as un-modified.
(nnmail-cache-close): Don't kill buffer.
* gnus-msg.el: Cannibalized.
* message.el: New file.
* gnus-cache.el (gnus-cache-possibly-enter-article): Don't enter
sparse article into cache.
Sun Mar 24 06:44:11 1996 Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen <lars@eyesore.no>
* gnus.el (gnus-article-hide-boring-headers): Use
`gnus-extract-address-components'.

Expect major breakage in XEmacs. I got only about half the files byte
compiled with no apparent error message, and attempting to recompile
``some'' gives a nasty message in one of the new files:
$ make some
xemacs -batch -q -no-site-file -l ./dgnushack.el -f dgnushack-recompile
Loading /usr/lib/xemacs/sgnus-0.58/lisp/dgnushack.el...
Loading gnus...
Loading mail-utils...
Loading timezone...
Loading nnheader...
Loading sendmail...
Loading message...
Loading mail-header...
Wrong type argument: listp, #<keymap 0 entries 0x49d>
XEmacs exiting.
make: *** [some] Error 255
Presumably this is due to incompatibility in XEmacs/Emacs mail modes.
Coming at the same time as the second consecutive uncompilable alpha
test Linux kernel is synchronicity I guess. :-(
