Dear all,

I'm a bit confused by the versions. No gnus 0.4 was just released and
No gnus 0.5 is current CVS. But what about the gnus comes with emacs
cvs? It has a version 5.11.

No Gnus is the development version and is supposedly less stable than
Gnus 5.11.

I see. But gnus 5.11 will synchronize to no gnus from time to time,
right?

Bug fixes are backported; new features are not.

Thanks, Lars.

But which feature set does gnus 5.11 based on? It will be illogical to
guess it's based on gnus 5.10.8.

Cheers,

Why would it be illogical?

It's based on Oort Gnus, which turned into Gnus 5.10.

The version number 5.11 > 5.10, isn't it?

OK, I see. Thanks a lot. I thought no gnus is going to turn into gnus
5.12 and so is gnus 5.11. Now everything is clear.

Sure, but all that tells you is that 5.10 is probably not later than 5.11.

[In fact 5.11 _is_ basically 5.10.8]
