Testing new release scripts.  Let me know if the patches or the Gnus
package looks wonky.

Well, the 'V' command now reports Gnus is version 5.3. The subject of this 
message was wrong too, since it announced the release of 5.4.3, not 5.4.2.

Patches?  Are you finally releasing patches?  I remember discussion of
a gnus-patch mailing list, but I haven't heard of it being implemented
yet...

I've been doing patches for a year and a half...  Hm.  I say where to
find them in the "... is released" messages.

Are we talking about the same thing?  I am thinking of unified diffs
upon which I can run "patch" in order to update my version.  I can't
find any patches at ftp.ifi.uio.no:/pub/emacs/gnus.

Apologies, of course, if I am missing something obvious.

You're not missing anything.  The patches are on the web, under
<URL:http://www.ifi.uio.no/~larsi/ding-patches/>, but I couldn't find
them on the ftp-site either.

Ah, I see they are on the web page; I had been using ftp only.  It
would be nice if they were on the ftp site.

OK, OK.  Clickety clickety click...

ding-patches@hpc.uh.edu is now operational.  Only Lars and I can post to
it, though why I'd want to I'll never know.  You can subscribe with:

echo "subscribe ding-patches" | mail majordomo@hpc.uh.edu

I'm still using the ding name because ding-announce still uses it.  It
hearkens back to the olden days.  I don't suppose there's any need to
subscribe to ding-announce if you subscribe to ding-patches, unless you
really, really want to know when new Gnus versions come out.

Perhaps if you gave the full URL people would notice it ^_^

(It would make my life a bit easier, too, but that's just because I then
could use webget to get them without having to figure out the name again
each time ^_^ )

There's still the option of sending them to this list . . .
Putting them up on the FTP site would probably work best.
