Subject: Strange gmane interaction
Date: Wed, 02 Jun 2004 09:12:01 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <m2smde9bxq.fsf@hornby.local> (raw)
Hello,
I can't seem to subscribe to new gmane groups. Old ones work fine.
My *Group* buffer looks like
[ emacs -- 0 ]
*: nntp+news.gmane.org:gmane.emacs.wiki.general
* 0: nntp+news.gmane.org:gmane.emacs.gnus.general(m)
0: nntp+news.gmane.org:gmane.emacs.bbdb.user(m)
Where I have no problem accessing .emacs.gnus.general, but
emacs.wiki.general gives me the message:
411 No such group gmane.emacs.wiki.general
nntp+news.gmane.org:gmane.emacs.wiki.general error: 411 No such group
gmane.emacs.wiki.general
What is the meaning of the "(m)"? Any idea what I've done wrong?
This is CVS as of five minutes ago, but also had the problem with a
month-ago's CVS.
Here are my methods, though using "nnnil" for the select-method had
the same effect.
(setq gnus-secondary-select-methods
'((nnimap "xxxx.ucsd.edu"
(nnimap-list-pattern ("INBOX" "mail/*"))
(nnimap-stream network))
(nntp "news.gmane.org")))
(setq imap-log "*imap-log*")
(setq gnus-select-method '(nntp "news.ucsd.edu"))
Thanks for any debugging tips.
Cheers, Jody
