Gnus from CVS some time on 2001-08-29, backend is nntp.
Anonymized screenshots from *Summary*:

I'm reading the article by Person A, and press `^'. Gnus replies with
No such article (may have expired or been canceled)
and the *Summary* buffer is now:
: Re: Something
O 0 00-00-00 02.00 [ ?: nobody ] (none)
G 800 01-08-31 13.55 [ 23: Person A ]
244 01-08-31 14.35 [ 26: Person B ]
Notice the G! `g' on Person A puts the cursor on "nobody" and shows
Person A's article; *Summary* is now:
: Re: Something
R 0 00-00-00 02.00 [ ?: nobody ] (none)
G 800 01-08-31 13.55 [ 23: Person A ]
244 01-08-31 14.35 [ 26: Person B ]
