  It is hard to explain clearly, so I made two screenshots.

  This is No Gnus v0.3, The articles which have been read is not
  marked and is not highlighted.

  This is Gnus 5.11, It works perfectly.

  I removed all of the redundant settings in my .gnus.el except
  following most basic settings:

  (setq mail-sources
      '((pop :server "XXXXXX"
	     :port 110
  	     :user "XXXXX"
 	     :password "XXXXX")
	(pop :server "XXXXX"
	     :port 110
	     :user "XXXXXXXXX"
	     :password "XXXXXX")))

  (setq gnus-select-method '(nnml ""))
  (setq gnus-fetch-old-headers 500)
