The cache already conflates two separate functions -- persistent
articles and, er, the cache. I think that Simon is right in that the
second of these functions should be conflated with the Agent instead.
So instead of making the present cache do all these things, I think
the caching behavior should perhaps be moved to the Agent instead, and
integrate the Agent more closely with the rest of Gnus.
