I decided to combine all my work groups under one virtual
group to make searches easier. All succeeded ok, except that
after the virtual group appeared, all my other work groups'
flags 'E' were removed. I don't remember if I had "!" flags,
but I suppose they were cleared too.
I don't think this is supposed to be happening?

Nope. I haven't seen any irregularities in nnvirtual marks handling
in quite a while now. Does this happen all the time, or just
sometimes?

Yes, the situation is repeatable. Happens with 0.18 too.
1. Mark any number of newsgroups which have ! E or other marks
2. make new group: G V some.virtual
3. move marked groups to new virtual group: G v some.virtual
--> All marks are gone. Boom :-(
