The buffer only contains the last command. (FSVO "last command" -- the
streaming ones don't delete anything.) So it's not a log buffer, but a
buffer used for internal parsing.

Does the group show, like, a lot more unread articles in the group
buffer, but you only get the 100 last articles when you enter the group?
