Uhm. I think so. I have this in my .Xdefaults file: *font: -b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-14-140-75-75-m-90-iso8859-1 And that's all the font-twiddling I've done. (This is on a Red Hat GNU Linux system.) And the Japanese glyphs -- 日本語 -- show up all pretty and stuff.
