Alternatively, maybe examine the call to ~/.gnus on the first line of
~/.gnus  to see if it is a batch command.

Will gnus be aware of some thing like shell $@ when .gnus is read,
where I could look for the `-batch' flag and load certain stuff if its
pressent?

Any example how that might be done?
