Hello gang;

I generally haven't worried about this a whole lot, but since I just did
some reorganizing of my topics (with the advent of nnimap) this really
became a problem.

Here are some things that bugged me:
  * Add a new topic somewhere. It drops down to the bottom of the current
topic. I cannot move this topic above existing groups. What if I
/want/ it to be where the point was? Is it not possible to have
        Topic A
                Group 1
                Group 2
                Topic B
                        Group 3
                        Group 4
                Group 5
                Group 6

  * 'T m' does not move a Topic.

  * Killing a range of groups with C-w did something odd for me. I killed
about 20 groups and went to insert (C-y, one at a time) them into
another topic. I ended up getting copies of the 20 groups below the
ones I killed, and the ones I killed appeared to be gone forever.

  * Is it possible to indent the groups under a subtopic so that there is
alway an X-space difference between the Topic and its Groups (and
subtopics). This only seems to happen with SubTopics.

nnimap? Wow! Where can I get it from? I doesn't seem to be in
pgnus-0.96.

I agree. It would be nicer if new topics were created at point. Once
you put at least one group inside a new topic, you can kill it and
then yank to wherever you like.

I missed the point here: for me groups are already indented related to
the topic line.

As to moving topics, I only know of C-k on the topic line, then C-y
elsewhere. If that doesn't do what you want, I'm at the end of my

You can include the correct specifier in the gnus-group-line-format
(%P I believe). Please note that there is another variable
gnus-topic-line-format which controls what topic lines look like. It
may well be that one includes the indentation specifier whereas the
other doesn't. And what's more, the specifiers for the two variables
seem to be incompatible!

Are there any plans to integrate this into gnus itself anytime soon?

Just curious -- Thanks!

Yes.

Who's to know? Simon says he wants to release nnimap 1.0 rather
soonish. (Only bugfixes, no new features.) After nnimap 1.0 has been
released, it can presumably be incorporated into Gnus.

In the meantime, the current Gnus and nnimap work together just fine
-- there is a quirk every now and then, but the added productivity of
Gnus more than makes up for that.

`TAB' and `M-TAB' indents and un-indents topics.

Huh. I'm unable to reproduce this. Does this happen every time you
`C-w'?

The groups have "normal" indentation in the topic, plus two spaces for
each subtopic.
