---------------------------------------------------------------------
It appears that gnus-article-date-lapsed (W e) is broken with respect
to time zones. This is a digest of four e-mails I sent to myself with
various timezone settings -- all within two minutes.
gnus-article-date-ut correctly decodes them into about the same
universal time, but gnus-article-date-lapsed shows them with a varying
amount of time elapsed time since being sent.

I notice this when people from Asia send me mail -- the impossible
happens and I get e-mail from the future!

Hm:

(article-make-date-line "17 Nov 1998 01:10:42 -0700" 'lapsed)
=> "X-Sent: 15 hours, 49 minutes, 24 seconds ago"

(article-make-date-line "17 Nov 1998 00:10:42 -0800" 'lapsed)
=> "X-Sent: 15 hours, 49 minutes, 25 seconds ago"

So I don't seem to be able to reproduce this bug...

Thanks for the obvious test case, I'll look into it further. It is
quite possibly something that shows up only under the WinNT Emacs
port.
