Subject: Agent display bug
Date: 03 Sep 1999 20:08:56 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3906npe47.fsf@satellite.local.lan> (raw)

Entering an nntp group in unplugged mode, with C-u <RET> can display
two completely different sets of posts depending on how "unplugged" is
entered.

Requirements are and NNTP group with Posts downloaded to News/agent
that are older than what is available on the server.

In the instant case it is gnu.emacs.gnus going back to July 13 (when
my older posts first show up -- there are many before that date, back
to Apr)

If "unplugged" is called after first going online in "plugged" mode
then entering gnu.emacs.gnus with C-u <RET> shows messages ranging
from Jul 13 to today (Sept 3)

If unplugged is called directly from emacs (M-x unplugged) without
first going plugged, then the display is Jul 13 to Aug 4.

In the first case it seems to be every thing pgnus is aware of in
News/agent ....... gnu/emacs/gnus

In the second case it seems to be only what the server has expunged
already. IE Pgnus is displaying what it knows as the oldest Post and
up to whatever is the cutoff point of expunged posts on the
server. But nothing that is still on the server.
