Something along this same vein: I like to have the summary displayed with hidden threads, and have set up the `gnus-summary-line-format' to show the number of messages in a thread. To me, this makes it easier to get a quick overview of the summary. Scroll down to something interesting and start using 'n' which will open the threads and find the new articles. If you have the default view of only new articles, but have a number of 'ticked' articles also in the display then a new message can hide behind a ticked message. I'd like to be able to notice any new articles with out opening the threads with 'T S' and with out using 'n' till I want it. So how would it work to have any thread containing a new message, show the 'unread face' even if some messages in the thread are already read but ticked then when the thread is opened the ticked ones show 'ticked face' and the unread show unread normally. -- Harry Putnam reader@newsguy.com
