I've just done a mop-up of "convention" fixes. That is, I've run
indent-sexp on everything, put double spaces after all full stops in
comments and doc strings, and made all doc strings have a complete
sentence as the first line.

This means that if you're planning on working on bits of the code, you
should check out the latest CVS before doing so. Otherwise, there'll
be lots of conflicts.

*phew* Two years to the next mop-up. :-) Or, if there was a
continual mop done before each release, then this wouldn't be an
issue... Hm. Perhaps I should run the indent-sexp command as part of
the release script? Yes, I think I'll do that.

I worked for a company which forced indentation checks as a part of
the CVS commit checking. While this is a little draconian it does
mean that there aren't any monstrous changes for re-indentation.

As long as you can run indent-sexp from the command line, it is pretty
simple to integrate into the CVS commit script.

In case it's not obvious, Checkdoc is useful in this context, though
not for dealing with indentation.

Hm. Checkdoc complains about functions and variables missing doc
strings, which is not a style error, so it's not as usable as it
should be.

... but I see that there's lots of variables to twiddle. I'll give it
a whirl.

No, it can't be used. It's much too quarrelsome.
