Make sure you are using the latest gnus.el and spam.el, and remove the .elc files too. If it still fails, go to gnus.el and manually hit C-x e after each of the ham-marks and spam-marks definitions. There's a variable gnus-install-group-spam-parameters that also may be enabled by accident, that's for those XEmacs users who used to have problems with the parameters definition. I doubt gnus-install-group-spam-parameters is the problem, but do make sure it's nil. Thanks Ted
