authinfo not working anymore?

authinfo not working anymore?

Just updated to the latest cvs and it seems like nothing is using the
passwords as specified in my .authinfo file.  This *used* to work...

Has something changed?  I didn't see anything obvious...

Just did again.  No go.  imap is getting the user/pass from .authinfo, 
but nntp is not (asks for userid/passwd).  I assume nothing has
changed as far as the config goes?

The code changed in this area, but I seem to get the right stuff out
of the .authinfo file.  What are the rest of you seeing?

Hm, I started gnus und he ask User-Name und Passwort?
My System is W2k, the lastet XEmacs-Beta and the lastet CVS-gnus I
think. ;)

OK, if I specify "port nntp" on the authinfo line then everything
works fine....  If I leave that out, then it don't get
pulled... Thoughts?

Same behavior here with XEmacs/21.2 (Millenium) and Win98. I got the
CVS-gnus at circa 11:30 MESZ 23. April 2000 

Gnus asks me for User-Name and Password.

What does

(gnus-netrc-machine (gnus-parse-netrc "~/.authinfo") "some.machine")

evaluate to?  (The machine named should not have a "port" entry.)
