Parsing those 15k digit strings into ints and then compressing them into
ranges can take a lot of CPU when done in elisp.

Especially when there are gaps.

The CPU usage after I modified dbmail to use per-group UIDs rather than
per-server UIDs was miniscule compared to what I got with stock dbmail.

And all of it was due to the range compression function(s).
