It just produces a new file - with nnmh I don't need to | do more processing then "ls | sort" to get the highest article | number. An nnml directory looks exactly like an nnmh directory with the addition of .overview, which does not normally show up with ls. By the by, since ls normally sorts alphanumerically, `ls -1 | tail -1` is probably the fastest way to do this. | Besides, there seems to be a bug in nnmh...
