I've tried to figure out how to send news thru local spool and
transport it using slrnpull when the link goes up.
Setting gnus-post-method to '(nnspool "/var/spool/news/out.going")
doesn't work. No new articles appear in the directory when I send
them. Could you enlighten me please.
TIA /S

nnspool uses /usr/bin/inews (by default) to post articles.
(`nnspool-inews-program'.) Perhaps that doesn't work for you?

Works just fine; Deniz Dogan showed me this. I thought Gnus puts the
mail in the spool just like slrn does it :) Don't you think that
spooling it directly would be a good idea ?

I don't know -- nnspool has always used inews to post articles.
