Well, the bbdb problem was because I used the following line in my
..gnus:
(setq
bbdb-auto-notes-alist
'(("Organisation" (".*" company "\\&"))
("Organization" (".*" company "\\&"))
("Newsgroups" (".*" newsgroups "\\&"))
(put 'newsgroups 'field-separator "; ")
))
Commenting out the (put ..) line helped. Which is unfortunate,
because I like the effect it's supposed to have.
Still haven't figured out the mailcrypt problem.
