[-- Attachment #1: Type: text/plain, Size: 571 bytes --]

I noticed that sometimes an attachment is somehow "removed" from an
article. I've seen it with pdf and jpeg, although I don't know if the
two issues are related since the consequences are different.

For the pdf case, the name of the pdf file doesn't appear in the button for
the attachment and saving the attachment gives an empty file.

For the jpg case, the image is displayed as the border of a square in
white after the text, without any attachment button.

I attached the content part of said articles. Let me know if there is a
better way to attach them.

Julien.

Hm. Did you set mm-attachment-override-types?

Save to a file, then C-c C-a, and choose "inline".

I used to but add image/.* to but I removed it when I noticed this
problem. Now it's back to its default value. The message is on an IMAP
server, and the problem persists whether mm-attachment-override-types
contains image/.* or not.

OK, that's what I did, I wasn't sure about the "inline" being the best
choice.

Julien.

Do you have `nnimap-fetch-partial-articles' set?

Yes I had, and removing it fixed the problem. But that's not the
intended behaviour, is it ? For other articles, the pdf attachment
button was displayed.

I just noticed that removing nnimap-fetch-partial-articles also resolved
the other problem I reported about charsets in thread "Automatic
decoding of charsets". There seems to be something really wrong going on
with nnimap-fetch-partial-articles, but I'm glad you could pinpoint it.

Julien.

If you could post a complete article that displays the problem, that
would be helpful.

Here is the example where the pdf attachment disappears. Let me know if you
need another the article with the jpg attachment or the versions of
those articles without the prefetch option.

Well, the PDF wasn't there, because you had partial fetching on. But I
did see the PDF button. I think you said the button was gone?

The button was there but without a name for the pdf file, and saving the
pdf file gave an empty file.

Yes. If you're looking at a partial article, you have to use the
`gnus-summary-show-complete-article' command to see the full article.
