Odd..  The above text is the first text I see in the article buffer
upon reading that message.  It scrolls down to that point, that is.
The text is all there its just like someone hit the page down key for
me (how nice of them).

Could it be that XEmacs is computing the height of characters wrongly
or somethig?

Yup.  Fix in Pterodactyl Gnus v0.62.

I actually think the problem might be related to the next one (since
picons is setup to use the article buffer):  (I'll let you know if it
still exists after .62)
