Quimby unstable

Quimby died mysteriously tonight, too, so I'll be switching the hardware
with a new machine this weekend.  Hopefully it'll remain up until then.

Maybe you can upgrade it to a recent OS?

Ubuntu Natty is pretty good. *duck*

But at least a recent Debian...  More secure and I'll set up the Git
server (but I'm not touching your lolcats web shrine).

Upgrading it would be painful, but I think I'll just install a new
machine and copy over all the stuff to it.

So I think you can all expect things to not quite work correctly the
next couple of days.  :-)

I'm syncing and building stuff now.  Don't check anything into the Gnus
git repository.  :-)

Belay that order.  rsyncing over all the stuff (and building the new
raid) is going to take so long that I'm not going to finish today.  So
just carry on as normal, and I'll do a mop-up rsync tomorrow, and swap
the machines then.

I think he was expressing a hope that the replacement machine would have
a newer debian than the one that is about to die.

The gitweb stuff, and git itself, doesn't seem to be working, at least.

So, the old Apache config is under /var/tmp/apache*, while the new one
is pretty minimal.

The new Quimby is 64-bit, which probably explains why cgit no longer is
working, since it's compiled for 32-bit.

inn still isn't up, because the history and overview files have to be
rebuilt.  When going from 32->64 bits, those files become totally
invalid.

Some of the PHP scripts on Quimby need tweaking, since enable_track_vars
no longer exists in Apache2, so I'm clicking through and seeing if stuff
doesn't look right.

But, overall, things seem to be kinda ok.

I tried compiling cgit, but I didn't end up with a cgit.cgi, so I
probably did something wrong.

Did you end up with a "cgit" executable? In my installation cgit.cgi is
a copy of that (make install does the copying).

And I looked at the error log, and it was pretty obvious what to fix.
"git pull" works for me, anyway.
