(off-topic but the previous post did mention apt-cache) You can get a very nice port of apt-get and friends (things like apt-cache work just fine) from freshrpms.net. I love it, it makes system updates trivial through the freshrpms.net repository. The GTK frontend to apt-get "synaptic" is very clean and efficient. Ted
