qgnus can't fetch from rmail

qgnus can't fetch from rmail

I've been trying to switch to emacs v20.2 but I have a problem
with gnus/mail which is holding me back.

I use rmail with epop3mail to retrieve my mail, and then 
feed it into gnus as follows:

	(setq nnmail-spool-file "~/RMAIL")
	(setq gnus-secondary-select-methods '((nnml "")))

This works fine under emacs 19.34, with qgnus 0.29.
However under emacs 20.2, gnus doesn't see any new mail in the RMAIL file.

I don't know whether this is an incompatibility between
qgnus and the "new" end-of-line processing in v20, or some
other problem.

Any ideas on what to check for? The RMAIL file looks (at least to me) as if 
it is in the right format.

BTW, environment is win95, and using gnus-agent.

Does Gnus move the RMAIL file to ~/.gnus-crash-box?

I did see a .gnus-crash-box at one point, but it's gone now, and I
didn't notice when it came/went. What does it mean??

When Gnus includes new mail, it calls movemail to move the inbox from
wherever `nnmail-spool-file' points to, and it puts it in
"~/.gnus-crash-box" before handling further.  If Gnus doesn't move it,
it means that something is wrong with your movemail.
