During an internship, I had this displeasure with an older Gnus version, and found that somehow, bogus empty lines made it to the mails I was reading. I don't recall details about the setup (whether imap as mailsource or nnimap as select method). I've then used PINE that worked somewhat better. Possibly not security-wise (compared to Gnus), but what does that matter with Outlook viruses hitting every other day and Exchange as mail server... --=20 Matthias Andree
