OK. Now that the easy stuff is out of the way....

I want to convert my .newsrc.eld such that the default news server
becomes a foreign server -- changing all the goups therein into
foreign groups -- w/o losing any of the details, such as articles
read, ticked, cached, etc.

Ie, I want *only* foreign groups when done.

Is there any easy way to do so in pgnus?

I suspect not, so the real question is what-all I have to do to the
eld file to effect this. Removing the default server from .gnus.el
and .emacs.el is obvious. As is changing the filenames in
~/News/cache.

I suspect it is safe to assume that anything that matches:

        ("\([^:]+\)"

can be changed to:

        ("nntp+SERVER:\1"

Yes?

Is it really that simple?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

TIA!
