Due to the latest cvs holes, I've upgraded cvs to the latest one in
Woody. And for a change, it looks like they've applied all the
necessary patches to get pleasing cvslog messages.
So I'll be running unpatched, stock cvs from now on.

Out of curiosity, what did they end up changing in CVS? Do you need any
corresponding changes in cvslog?

I'm not quite sure -- I just remember having to apply patches the last
time, but not this time. (And the time before that, it was a number
of patches.)
I think the last patch was the CVS_USER thing that let the From: be
correct in the cvslog emails...
