I think so, but nnmaildir has a little other brokenness in there that

That sounds good, if that is in fact what "force" is supposed to mean.

It's unclear because it doesn't really mention the difference between
deletion and expiration at all, so the mere juxtaposition of "force"
with "deleted" isn't as suggestive as it might be.  If that is what
it's supposed to mean, then great - let's make the docs more explicit
and fix the backends accordingly.
