Subject: large font display problem in GNUS after XEmacs upgrade
Date: Tue, 09 Sep 2003 10:22:17 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3r82qca92.fsf@uh-oh.nvidia.com> (raw)

I use a large font (20pt) for the actual subject portion of the
"Subject:" header (but not the word Subject: itself) in Article
buffer. This has been working fine for years.

When I recently upgraded from XEmacs 21.5.b5 to 21.5b14 a weird
thing happened.

When displaying an Article buffer, the large font is properly
displayed. But if I move point to the Article buffer, it is
instantly redrawn with font reduced to "normal" size, but with
foreground and background still correct.

Also when moving from article to article using Summary buffer
the Article buffer will draw properly with the large Subject line
and then instantly redraw with a smaller font, causing the
display to appear twitchy.

Toggling font-lock off and back on does not help.

Using GNUS 5.10.2 and CVS gnus from 9/9/03.

Here is the face I'm using:

    `subject-face' (buffer: *Article*, mode: Article)

    Face:

      ABCDEFHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ abcdefhijklmnopqrstuvwxyz 0123456789

      Font: -*-Lucidatypewriter-Medium-*-*-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
      Foreground: green
      Background: (grey20)
      Underline: (nil)

    Property-list:

      custom-face-display: t
      face-comment: nil
      force-face: rogue
      saved-face-comment: nil
theme-face: ((user set ((t (:foreground "green" :size "20")))))
      saved-face: ((t (:foreground "green" :size "20")))

Anyone else seeing this problem?
