Well, compressing files is something that I'd think you'd want to do
in a batch-oriented fashion since it can be quite time consuming.
That is, you get a gazillion nnml files, and then when you run low on
disk space, you just say "gzip *" in the directory.
So I don't know whether this would be all that useful.
