They are both on the same filesystem, but my client workstation (juju)
which is running Gnus, is accessing them over NFS.

[jason@juju ~]$ df ~
Filesystem           1k-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on
rr:/u1/jason           6080483   3292458   2473027  57% /users/jason

[jason@juju ~]$ df ~/Maildir/new/
Filesystem           1k-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on
rr:/u1/jason           6080483   3292458   2473027  57% /users/jason
