"Gee -- Apache does a refer_log thing. How neat," Lars thought. So
he wrote <URL:http://quimby.gnus.org/cgi-bin/refer>. And then he felt
quite, quite evil, for some reason or other.

The "cid:nil" links are broken. Maybe these entries should be wholly
removed.

There are a number of equal entries. Merge?

Entries are currently sorted by ?Date?. Perhaps group them by page
referred.

"cid:nil" does sound very Emacsish. William, does w3 do a
Referer-header of "cid:nil" sometimes, or something?

Perhaps.

No, I like having them by date.

I've now done so. The list looks much smaller now. :-/

I really can't remember seeing anything like this before. (That is,
just producing an output of the interesting bits of the referral log.)
It seems like such an obvious thing to do for people who are curious
(and I'm *very* curious).

And *evil*.

Oh, but I counter your evilness with my own little evilness in my
.netscape/preferences.js:

  user_pref("network.sendRefererHeader", false);

:-)

Cheers,
Doug

The 4 weeks summary has a nice size.

The really eeevil people (most of the others) prefer to not publish
the information but keep it to themselves, so they can gloat over it.

Ah, there's a typo in the title.

Back to gnus ...

"Referrals"? Isn't that correct?

Not the heading; the title. It says: "Quiby Referrals".

That's what I do, but I suppose I could be persuaded to hand my perl
script out which also parses Referer URLs from search engines into
something meaningful.
