Lars would have had a good laugh, If he could have seen me when I saw
the price tag for my 4 cups...

640.00

Forgetting for few moments that this was `kroner' I nearly fainted.

Well Lars, you can still chuckle up your sleeve because, the
conversion still ends up almost double what I thought I was paying.

You rascall... But of course many many thanks for the hours and hours
of work you gave us.

? The order form should have said exactly what you were paying. Was
it wrong?

Probably dopeyness on my part... And understand, this was in no way a
complaint. It was supposed to be funny. I didn't keep the order form
or at least can't find anything now that looks like an order form for
those cups.

It may have been tasteless to bring this up here... I thought it was
kind of funny, and that you would appreciate the humor in it.

As I recall the cups were priced at $10 each, which would be $40 in US
dollars. Forgetting any taxes and shipping for the moment.

The bill on the cups (I just got today) Showed 640.00. Which at first
I took to be US dollars! .....That was the joke.

Finally I noticed it was kroner. Then I recalled that when ordering I
had read something to the effect that all transactions would be
converted to kroner. So being somewhat interested by then, I looked up
a web source to make the conversion:

http://www.xe.net/ucc/convert.cgi

Shows:
Universal Currency Converter[tm] Results by Xenon Labs

Rates as of 2000.12.29 17:40:19 EST.
                640.00 NOK = 72.6637 USD
                Norway Kroner United States Dollars

Nearly double 4x10

Understand now that I have not seen my actual visa statement, nor am I
particularly concerned. Price was not much of a factor in my
purchasing the cups so may not have been real attentive to that part.

How might I recognize any receipt I may have had? Is there a keyword
likely to be on it that would allow me to grep it out easily?

They are very nice cups.... I've done something to support Gnus
development... So ..... I am a happy camper.

:-)

Shipping 2x 1kg via Air Mail is NOK 240, aka. USD 27, so there's
something odd going on here. Hmmm... My records show your billing as
NOK 604, which is USD 67, which adds up. Did I really bill you NOK
640?

(Only that I really charged you NOK 40 too much, since it was 2kg, not
2x 1kg, which my order form postage calculation thingie messed up, I
see. (Counting the 2x silver and 2x red separately.) I need to find
out how to work the "refund" thing on my Visa thing...)

NO.. NO.. NO.. NO..

Yikes again... I hate it when I make a fool of myself in public.
Indeed it is 604.00..

All this just goes to show that a dumb country boy should never kibbitz
with a sharp money changer. Especially if it involves international currency.

Sorry for the fuss. Well, sorry for the fuss that wasn't really a fuss.
